Buyskop Lodge

First I would like to say thank you to Jan. For telling us about everything we needed it was very helpful. Online the place looked small but in Reality the chalet is very spacious. The place was very quiet it felt so unreal. The place is clean, the staff that helped us go through with the rules was very lovely. It's so cozy, it really feels like your at home! I really wanted to swim but the other guests unfortunately took the pool to themselves, which is not the lodges fault. I would LOVE to visit again.

We enjoyed a birthday party together with friends and family. The whole experience was excellent. The chalets were clean and modern. The services were excellent. The food was excellent. A big thanks to the owner for accommodating us. A huge thank you to Sonja and Carlie for the preparation of the food and hall. You are doing a great job and made everything so easy to enjoy. I will always recommend Buyskop Lodge to other people. You are the best.

We really enjoyed our 6 nights. The chalets are clean and packed with all necessary utensils. Animals roaming around. Very quiet you can still do your work. Workers constantly checking if we are still sorted with toiletries and cleaning. Braai stand was always cleaned after using it,we enjoyed sitting around the fire at night. Breakfast was always good. We had activities booked around the area, it is very close to a lot of activities outside the lodge. I can't fault them in any way. We will definitely visit again💯👏🏽❤️

Disappointing Experience at Buyskop Lodge

I'm writing to share my family's unpleasant experience at Buyskop Lodge, owned by Jan. While we initially had a pleasant interaction, the tone changed dramatically after making a booking 14 days in advance, as per his requirement.

The complimentary breakfast was a letdown, with a lack of options and a "take it or leave it" vibe. We were also surprised by the lack of basic amenities like towels and blankets stating it was in the terms and conditions. The lodge could benefit from more activities or entertainment options to keep guests engaged.

What really took us aback was the inconsistent enforcement of noise rules. When we played music softly, we were asked to keep the volume down, while other guests were being loud without any issues. After checking out, we had a difficult time getting in touch with Jan regarding our refundable breakage fee. He initially claimed he needed to review our stay for any rule breaches, but then ignored our messages altogether.

But what really crossed a line was when my sister left a review about her experience, and Jan demanded she take it down stating everything she wrote was inaccurate and that she abused him on social media. To make matters worse, he proceeded to harass me via WhatsApp messages to give her contact details to him even after being told she was asleep and would respond in the morning. This behavior is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about his professionalism and respect for guests.

Overall, I would strongly advise against staying at Buyskop Lodge. The lack of hospitality and respect for guests is disappointing. Until significant improvements are made, I wouldn't recommend this lodge to anyone.

We pay almost exclusive lodge prices to stay in a substandard place. Although the workers were friendly and the place has lots of potential and the kitchen is nicely stocked, the place was not clean. The bed was extremely uncomfortable even the sleeper couch was torn, the bedding and pillows were worn out, quite badly, the coffee table was also damaged and there were too many rules, like not allowing music at the swimming pools. We were highly disappointed when we arrived and were told that we could not braai due to high fire warnings, which is understandable, we then asked for an extra fan because it was so hot and we were told they dont have. There was no means to even try to accommodate us, like arranging a gas braai. We then asked if we could check the menu for dinner and were told that there is no restaurant on the property, even though the website mentioned that there was. The place was very disappointing, we were happy to come back home and rest in our bed. The owner/manager made no effort to accommodate anything.
