Apple Camp Ceres

Absolutely amazing camp site. The best we've ever been to. Private, quiet and safe, with clean bathroom and kitchen area. The river was glorious to swim in and there was alot of shade. Brilliant! Thank you!

Really cool group camping experience. 18 of us booked out the place. Only negatives I’d say is that there’s one toilet and one shower for all to share as well as the river water being super low, stagnant and full of algae. Not pleasant to swim in when it’s so hot. Otherwise very nice facilities 👍🏼

The facilities need an upgrade. The site only has 1 toilet and 1 shower and is not set up to accommodate up to 20 people. The shower doesn’t drain properly and hot water was spotty.
Lovely grass and shade at the site, and the river is definitely a highlight. There is also electricity and a fridge.

We camped 25-27 September 2022. Apple Camp, just outside of Ceres, is a pet friendly campsite. It’s right next to a stream/river, tucked away from civilization on a farm filled with apple and pear orchards. It’s quiet and secluded with picturesque mountain views in the distance. The dogs absolutely loved it! There is ample space for the doggos to prance around, explore and sniff.

Price: R 600 per night for the whole campsite.

Facilities: Private ablution block with kitchen area (including an old fridge/freezer and storage) and a braai area. There are basic items included.

Notes:
The manager(s) (Candice/Cheryl) were great with their communication leading up to our stay.
The campsite is booked out over weekends far in advance. We visited on a Monday and Tuesday. It must be noted this is a working farm. Unfortunately the orchard right by the campsite was being pruned while we were there. It changed the peaceful vibe and Ash was not impressed. He went up barking at the farm workers all the time.
There is only 1 toilet and shower.

Suggestions:
There are dead branches against the hill facing the camp site. Removing the branches would make for a far better view.
Driving to and from the campsite was annoying as we had to remove apple tree branches from the road. These can be removed by the farm workers who must have dropped them there.

Beautiful setting in nature but not suitable for "up to 20 people" as advertised. 1 bathroom is a bit of a stretch. But the swimming holes definitely make up for it
