Sanddrif Holiday Resort

Stayed at campsite for the weekend.The abulution facilities were clean and the campsite is well maintained. The road to get to the location is abit hair raising but the location beautiful. The campsite is at the base of the Wolfberg Arch and cracks hike. I highly recommend this campsite.

It was a lovely stay. The camp site was very nice, you have your own facilities incl a shower toilet and sink for your kitchen needs. The geyser is not that big so for the 6 of us the hot water was a struggle😅. But the views where incredible, unfortunately due to fires we could not go to the famous arch but we did go to stadsaal caves which we will definitely recommend. Also one of the best wine tasting experiences I have ever had not just because of the wine but of our wine expert that made it unforgettable. Thank you Sanddrif

What a beautiful place in the mountains along a river, that you can swim in.
There are so many things you can do here: swimming, hiking in the Valley of the red gods, running , cycling and of course just relaxing in the beautiful chalets.
My family and I enjoyed it very much.
We definitely will come again.

Amazing time at Kliphuis campsite which is part of sanddrif Holiday Resort. On our last day, our vehicle broke down as we were leaving for home. I cannot express enough, my gratitude to David Nieuwoudt who assisted in so many ways to get us sorted. I have been camping at Kliphuis for many years and would fully recommend any of the camping facilities at Sanddrif or Kliphuis. Stunning views, spectacular hikes and the most welcoming and friendly staff.

We were really looking forward to our stay and had a wonderful time for the most part (hiking, the great outdoors), however problems with underfloor heating put a damper on the whole experience. The chalet description says there is underfloor heating. We live in a tropical country so at a time when the nighttime temperature in Cederberg is 11-12c that was crucial for us during our holiday, plus it was an advertised feature. Upon checking in we turned the underfloor heating on in the bedrooms and it was clear it would take a long time to actually heat up (24h for basic, 48 for decent warmth). But there was no thermostat for that in the living room/kitchen and the bathroom. Showering and just generally being inside the cabin was freezing in the evening.
The next day the receptionist formed me that the winter had ended and they don't check nor maintain the heating before the next winter. All they could do was send someone to confirm that the heating was broken but it wasn't going to be fixed in any case, as they of course confirmed that the heating was broken. The receptionist said we couldn't move rooms due to full occupancy and she was going to send more heaters instead. The extra heaters never arrived during the next 2 nights. The stone floors were freezing. We had to find ways to keep warm.
That's pretty poor service in my book. The description said underfloor heating and we never got any in the common area where we spent a lot of time in the evenings when the temperature dropped. One factor that probably played into the underfloor heating being broken in the living room and kitchen was a huge crack in the living room floor, that likely broke the wires under the floor. I wonder why they wouldn't maintain that, because they had removed the thermostat they must have known it was broken, but still rented the cabin. Maybe it was creed, or whatever the reason, not maintaining a crucial element from the brochure is disappointing and subpar service.
Long review, but let this be a warning for those who do not regard 11c as sufficiently warm.
