Kliprivier Park

Beautiful campsite, nicely grassed and many trees, definitely appreciated the shade on the hot days. Ablution blocks were clean with plenty hot water, it was good to see the refurbishing taking place. Camped next to the river very relaxing. Made good use of the large pool. Yve and Staff were most pleasant friendly and helpful. The chalets looked very appealing. Highly recommended, will camp there again. Pensioners should take advantage of the off season rates.

Initially I was told that I would have plot 7 that had nice grass, when we got there we were given plot 4 which never had nice grass. Besides that the place was very nice. Everyone that worked there is friendly. We went to Dorpie and got some nice pieces of wood for R1 a piece by Aunty Rachel very nice lady, whenever I go there again I am definitely visiting Aunty Rachel again for their wood. If anyone is going to Tulbagh I would recommend buying wood by her.

A nice campsite for 6 people over 10 days. Staff did their best but sites have no clear markings which caused a lot of confusion initially. Lovely views including a river you cannot swim in but some small kids went fishing there. Ablutions are clean yet the resort need to sort out the water issues which was touch and go on most days.
There is a huge pool and most of the time when it was clean, we swam. They have a funny way of cleaning the pool and odd hours of doing it, but mostly it was fine to swim in.
Although there are things to do in the nearby town like visit a museum, wine tastings or restaurants for example, there is not much to do on the campsite itself.
There is a shop that opens on occasion and is very costly, a 2l Coke was R45. 00 at the time .We went to the "dorpie' nearby daily to get supplies but felt the shop could of been better stocked and have more reasonable prices. They have a type of communal tavern in the center of the campsite but why not have things like pool, Kerim, table tennis, darts or card games available?
I wish they concentrated on entertainment as the campers were left to their own devices in this aspect. For a cost of nearly 10k on accommodation only I am not sure I will be back.

Klipriver Camping Park has potential, but unfortunately it is in serious need of maintenance and major upgrades.
One of the biggest issues during our stay was the flies. The fly traps are clearly not maintained or replaced regularly, which made the problem significantly worse. The swimming pool was green and poorly managed, with no rules enforced. People were running and jumping into the pool, creating an unsafe environment—especially concerning for families with children.

We stayed at campsites 32 and 33, and neither plug point was working. After reporting this, extension leads were eventually run to supply electricity, but this took several hours to resolve. This is unacceptable for a campsite that advertises powered sites.
We were also not provided with a rubbish bin at our campsite. When we asked about this, we were told that no bins were available. Proper waste management is a basic necessity, and if the park intends to accommodate more guests, the necessary arrangements must be in place.

The ablution block opposite our campsite was extremely disappointing. Doors did not lock properly and many did not close at all. Fly traps were hanging inside the toilets, low enough to touch your head, which was unpleasant and unhygienic. Water pressure was very poor, and hot water was rarely available.
We had booked for six days but decided to leave after four due to these conditions.

With proper maintenance, improved management, and better attention to hygiene, safety, and basic facilities, this campsite could be much better. Sadly, at present, it does not meet basic camping standards.

Stayed for one night in a chalet, it is very basic but the beds and linen were clean and presented well with fresh clean towels. The hot & cold in the showers need sorting, there was no in between, either boiling hot or cold. The staff were excellent and professional, Yves the manager there was superb and very helpful when checking in, along with the young security lad (Kifer, I think his name was) they were very pleasant and chatty.
We will definitely be back. Thanks Guys!!
