Panorama Chalets and Rest Camp

We stayed for 8 days. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Friendly staff as well. A lot to do around Panorama Chalets. Our dear doggy friend Max (owners dog on premises) stole our hearts. He has a gentle soul and visited everyday, please be kind to him!!

Beautiful view, breath taking landscape. The pool in this place was an awesome idea, but small and cute though 😻.
The room was not up to the standard me and my husband expected it to be for such a high price though, although the kitchen set up was good, simple items like having coffee and sugar satche, small shower gel service would be. A good idea for this place. The bedroom they gave us definitely needs a makeover😭. The restaurant delivery really good food 👍👌 The Mr at the reception has a very cold personality towards people. My husband sent to the purchase honey I ended up not buying because of how cold, this guy was. The ladies on our arrival at the reception were very welcoming, fantastic personalities 🥰🎈

The place has a beautiful view and pool. We booked here for 5 days ( bookings.com), upon our arrival we were told that they do not offer cleaning services, they only clean when we check out. Imagine 5 days without any cleaning services, how ridiculous is that? To make matters worse they don’t even bring clean towels and no toilet paper for the entire stay.
This is the 1st ever self catering holiday home that does not offer these basic services, for the rate/ amount they charge this is disappointing.
For the amount we paid, we really felt cheated. They really need to invest on improving the rooms, the beds we slept on were horrible, we felt like we were on a High School Camp.
WiFi was not working for our entire stay, I really regret booking at this place. Worst holiday home ever.

People go on holiday to relax and gain different experiences, My home is more relaxing than this place.

We arrived afternoon to sunshine and a stunning view which I briefly saw beginning of October. We had a choice of grassed camping pitches, which all had electricity, lighting and movable braai. They are pretty level and have enough room for one camper and vehicle and shaded with large trees. As there was a laundry (which is reasonably priced) and we had been on a road trip for a few weeks, I thought I'd get some washing done. I wish I had left it for the next day, as that night it rained and carried on through the next day till evening, with thick fog. Any hope of seeing God's Window was gone. The following day after that was dry with intermittent fog and overcast, but in the morning was able to see the magnificent view briefly from the pool area, which I imagine to be the same as God's Window as it is the other side of Graskop. Unfortunately by the time we got to the entrance of God's Window it was thick thick fog/cloud, but Bourke's Luck Potholes and Lisbon Falls were a little lower down the mountain out of fog and worth seeing, though the Potholes were quite crowded.
There is a shop at reception which has a few essentials and a restaurant (a little overpriced) that is busy, and so a reservation needs to be made, but takeaways are available. The ablutions are clean and spacious with plenty of hot water. There is an undercover braaiing area which was needed in the continuous rain with an electric hob and washing-up area.
There are chalets, but have no idea to what they are like. Would we stay here again, maybe. It is a bit overpriced for camping, but you are paying for the view when it is visible and they have the monopoly for that. The facilities were good though and we felt safe.

Great place with the cutest swimming pool.Views are breathtaking.The only challenge is the shower which uses those old fashioned taps,so it becomes hard to actually get the right temperature for showering,they should consider changing them coz the current system actually wastes water instead of saving.
