De Villa River Resort

Very bad, we stayed in the cabins and there was no water to shower or to wash your dishes the bathroom is so dirty and the place where you should wash your dishes looks like it was cleaned 10 years ago, I don't recommend to stay there overnight.
You can see there is no maintenance at all at that side

Truly disappointed, the amount of money I paid for our visit at the De villa was insane for what we got . The chalets don't even deserve a 1 star rating ,no couches not even a table or chairs to sit on you have to sit on those hard stiff beds the entire time . The kitchen area doesn't have a table or an island for you to put your food on or prepare food . No sink in the kitchen and no taps . Don't get me started with the bathrooms FILTHY no cleaning stuff seen on site the entire stay mind you ,you have to share the bathrooms with a bunch of people. And the fact that I need to leave my room at night just for me to be able to use the bathroom absolutely absurd for the money I paid . Those chalets are giving concentration camp , just a box with beds stiff hard beds in that matter . Having to pay for wifi is insane as well considering the amount of money I spent there .
That 1 star is for the swimming area very beautiful and it accommodates kids perfect for a day visit .

I reserved three times on this resort, last time was December 2024, when I got there gates were looked me my kids outside at night no one answering calls had to drive to nearest town and look for reliable people. Very disappointed.

DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UNTILL YOU SAW THE FACILTY WITH YOUR OWN EYES:

The Chalets is disgusting to say the least. R5500 for two night you will expect 5 star accommodation - You then get a minus 5 star accommodation.

We paid at reception, went down to Chalet and saw the state the accommodation is in - Immediately went back and asked for a refund and they refused - Thus my advice - Please go and look at the facility before you pay for anything, I can guarantee anyone they will then not stay there

What a disappointment this place was. It has so much potential to be great, but sadly, it feels completely neglected. The unit we stayed in lacked even the most basic cooking utensils, and the few that were there were so worn and of such poor quality that they couldn't be used properly.

To make matters worse, the unit was infested with spiders and covered in spiderwebs. There was absolutely no water pressure, and an unpleasant smell of sewage lingered in the air.

The swimming pools, which were the main reason we chose this place, were in dire need of maintenance. The fiberglass was peeling, the hot water pool barely felt warm, and the three super tubes were malfunctioning, leaving painful scuffs. At night, the lack of proper lighting made the pool area dangerously dark.

Adding to our frustration, day visitors were allowed in, taking over the space with loud music and alcohol in glass containers, turning a relaxing environment into a noisy party scene. There was supposed to be a shop on-site, but it was closed, and the staff seemed to have no control over the situation. The bar had outside access, allowing anyone to wander in without any form of access control.

It’s truly sad to see a place with such potential heading downhill. I wouldn't recommend it at this stage.
