Ruby River Resort

The property needs serious work. No towels, soap or shampoo so please remember to take that with you. Considering it was valentines weekend, the "resort" was not on top of their game. Pub and food however was great and had a super time with the locals. Will in future look for another venue though.

The food takes so long ..we waited longer than an hour for our food and no one came to ask if we were oky or would like to drink something
The rooms are nice and the view is amazing but i would'nt go to the resturant again

Minor parking problem at the house we stayed at, went with 2 vehicles and there was people staying next to us. Other that that, very good service and they had everything we needed

When booking our 2 nights, we were not told that the restaurant was closed for those 2 days.
On arrival, half an hour early, knowing we were the only guests for the 2 nights, we asked if we could be upgraded to a chalet with a better view, larger space and nicer braai area. We were told no, without hesitation, it was said that the chalet we had booked was the one being cleaned. Customer service? Very questionable.
We packed swimming costumes, just to see that the 2 pools were not clean enough for swimming.
On closer look, the toilet was extremely dirty. Only cleaned on the surface really.
Although there is a clear sign in the bathroom about times the geyser will be switched on, the geyser was not switched on the morning we were checking out. A cold bath on a slightly cooler morning was not welcome.
We had a quiet, relaxing time, the views and river still lovely.
However, with the price paid per night and the poor service and dilapidated rooms and buildings it is not worth sleeping over.
We had seen the resort in better shape a few years ago.
