Gouritsmond Caravan Park

Hi fellow campers, a couple of years ago my family and friends went to Gourits caravan park for December. We went deep sea fishing with my brother in laws boat and caught a lot of nice size fish.( a 17.5kg Cob was the biggest one) we really enjoyed it. Whilst we were there, the annual rubber duck race was on.The only negative is that there is no swimming pool in the camp. That's a must..as there are some days that you just want to chill in the camp and cool off. Otherwise it was an awesomeness getaway. Will send photos soon.

Stopped here for an evening while on the Nuts and Bolts rally.

The campsite is large with a big clean bathroom. Sites have power as well as a braai place. There were a couple of people there who were staying on a more permanent basis who were all very friendly and accommodating.

Very expensive for what is available, maintenance and upgrading required. Far from beach compared to campsites in the area. Biggest problem downside is lack of consequences for the rule breakers, eg. music too loud, excessive drinking and disturbing other campers, dogs in the park. Even the Gouritsmond community isn't that friendly. For the cost and kilometres driven we had other options available. Shops in Gouritsmond has basic necessities but it comes at a cost.

Came for 9 days. Plenty of walking trails and a fishermans dream spot. Can fish the river, river mouth and ocean. Safe and secure caravan park.

Recently refurbished ablutions. Friendly service. Will visit again.
