De Bakke Santos

We are in the caravan park. Beautiful office staff, you matters. Beautiful sites. Lots of trees and shade. The ablution blocks are neat and tidy. Beautiful sea view. Rates are good 👍😊 Caravan and Tent's on paving, they are busy revamping all the sites.

The best thing about De Bakke Santos is Location. What an amazing location, straight on the on the beach. All Chalets are built in a distance so proper privacy can be maintained. Chalets have small Kitchen with cutlery, so that you can prepare your meal, that’s great help as all the markets, restaurants and joints are far from here and if you don’t have a vehicle then it’s a task to walk any such places. Chalets have Refrigerator, TV, Microwave, Coffee maker. No Ceiling Fan or Air Conditioner and Washing Machine and Iron, that’s disappointing. Towels and Bed Linens are provided during Check Inn but they don’t clean the Chalet or change the towels !!

Bathroom was very small and not cleaned by the staff anytime.

They have seating outside the Chalets, that's really cool. You can enjoy your dinner or coffee in cool breeze. Nice view during sun rise and sun set. Very safe, secured and calm place. Little outskirts of the town.

Parking is also not problem at all. We had a very pleasant experience and recommended this place to anyone considering staying there for relaxing and isolating from the crowd.

Our stay at De Bakke Santos started off extremely badly and left us feeling unwelcome and disrespected.

We booked a campsite for 8 nights and clearly communicated our group size: 4 adults, 3 teenagers, and an infant. After paying, we received confirmation that the number of campers was acceptable. Despite this, on arrival we were told we had to pay extra per person, which came as a complete shock as this was never communicated beforehand.

Things escalated when family members who had driven 4.5 hours to join us were informed that only one additional guest would be allowed on the campsite. This was devastating and embarrassing, especially after we had been given prior approval. The only option presented was to book another campsite at a much higher rate with a minimum stay, even though nearby campsites stood empty.

What made the situation worse was the attitude of the staff. The manager offered little more than a hollow apology, while the front desk staff member laughed during the discussion, showed no empathy, and repeatedly told us to refer to the terms and conditions. We were openly told that staff do not explain rules to guests and simply assume everyone reads the fine print.

This experience caused unnecessary stress for our family and guests and showed a clear lack of professionalism, empathy, and communication. We expected better from a well-known resort.

Unfortunately, we would not stay at De Bakke Santos again and cannot recommend it based on how this situation was handled.

I have been staying at De Bakke Santos since the first day of our 8-night camping booking, and the way guest limits and additional charges were handled was extremely disappointing.

Our group size was clearly declared during booking and was approved after payment. Despite this, on arrival we were informed of unexpected additional per-person fees. Later, when family members attempted to join us, we were told there was a strict limit on the number of guests allowed per campsite. This restriction had never been communicated to us beforehand.

Because of the prior approval, additional guests were invited and travelled 4.5 hours, only to be turned away. The only alternative offered was to book another campsite at a higher rate with a minimum stay requirement, even though neighbouring campsites were visibly unoccupied for days.

While management acknowledged the miscommunication, there was no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation. Staff relied heavily on fine print rather than taking responsibility for the lack of clear communication.

This experience highlighted poor systems, lack of transparency, and inflexible customer service. Guests should not be placed in this position after following the correct booking process.

I would not recommend De Bakke Santos to families or groups expecting clear communication and fair treatment.

This experience left a very poor impression of De Bakke Santos. Clear communication and basic courtesy were completely lacking. I would not recommend visiting or staying here if you are travelling with family or joining others already booked on-site.
