A perfect family adventure in Montagu
We had the most incredible 4 days at De Bos Backpackers & Camping in Montagu. Myself, Clint, and the kids spent time camping and rock climbing, and it was honestly one of our best outdoor getaways yet.
The setting is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, well-maintained, and surrounded by nature. The camping area felt safe, spacious, and ideal for families, with plenty of room for kids to explore while adults can truly relax. Being so close to world-class rock climbing was a massive bonus and made the experience even more special for us.
The atmosphere at De Bos is welcoming, laid-back, and perfectly suited for adventurers and families alike. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, reconnect, and make real memories together.
We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for camping, climbing, and anyone looking for a wholesome outdoor escape in Montagu 🌿🏕️🧗‍♀️

Had Thee Best Time with my mates at De Bos. Carol's service was excellent and friendly and she made us feel like we were at home. She also kept all our stuff we left behind. Facilities were neat, hygienic and in great shape. Definitely going back, thanks again Carol!

Clean, secure, well run camping (and rooms) in the heart of Montagu. If I HAVE to nit pick, then I would suggest the locals be reminded to slow down when driving past campers on their way to the pool. Not only is this unsafe, but the dust is not welcome

Lovely place. The staff are so helpful and friendly and even allowed us to check-in early which was really appreciate. We lived in buchu cottage. Lovely pillows, duvets and shower. Loves having fans. The location is great. So peaceful surrounded by mountains, donkeys, horses and birds. Wifi is strong and the cottage had everything we needed. Lovely pool. Best part was little Sydney the white dog. So cute asking us for belly rubs and ball throws. Not a fan of the “bar door” style bathroom door-doesn’t add a lot of privacy when in the bathroom.
