De Bos Backpackers is an absolute must stay if you're in Montagu. I was there for a hiking weekend and I must say that while I chose the camping spot, my friend chose the chalet. Either way, whichever you prefer, they have what you're looking for. With amenities for all to use and ground rules that apply to everyone, it was quite an enjoyable stay. They even have a pool for you to splash in. Horses to look at and enjoy the views of the mountain in the background. Overall, it was a good experience.

Went for an art exhibit under the trees only. Beautiful clean campgrounds, clean ablutions, epic views. Quiet. I'd go live there in a tent if it was practical.

A perfect family adventure in Montagu
We had the most incredible 4 days at De Bos Backpackers & Camping in Montagu. Myself, Clint, and the kids spent time camping and rock climbing, and it was honestly one of our best outdoor getaways yet.
The setting is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, well-maintained, and surrounded by nature. The camping area felt safe, spacious, and ideal for families, with plenty of room for kids to explore while adults can truly relax. Being so close to world-class rock climbing was a massive bonus and made the experience even more special for us.
The atmosphere at De Bos is welcoming, laid-back, and perfectly suited for adventurers and families alike. It’s the kind of place where you can slow down, reconnect, and make real memories together.
We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommended for camping, climbing, and anyone looking for a wholesome outdoor escape in Montagu 🌿🏕️🧗‍♀️
