We stayed in one of the stone houses, aircons in the rooms and lounge area. All cutlery, pots, bowls, and crockery that we needed was available. Towels and clean bedding was provided. Enjoyed cooling off in the dam. Lamberts bay and Elandsbaai is not too far to drive for a day on the beach.

This was a 2 night stay on our way home from a road trip. We came in from the north on the gravel road and it is a stunning view all the way along, but long and mostly only room for one vehicle. The site is right next to the dam with beautiful views across. There is no steep bank down to the water so access is easy for canoeing etc. The pitches are large with grass and fairly flat with electricity and water for each. We was mid week and was surprised that there was quite a few other campers (most with dogs), though it was school holidays. The only down side to the site is it is quite a walk to the ablutions and washing-up area in the heat though you do walk over a pretty little brook to them. They are clean, though a little dated but water was hot and pressure good. The manager says new ablutions are to be built closer to the pitches, but when or if this will happen is not determined. Leaving going south towards Clanwilliam 15km away is again on gravel, but then turns to tar. Would we stay there again, the answer is yes.

Excellent value for money, finishes are dated, but clean and fresh linen. Peaceful, tranquil seeting, beautiful flowers, a donkey, birds, swimming, walks and star gazing.

My family booked one of the stone houses for a weekend, and regretted not booking for a longer period. They loved the quiet stillness and magnificent view of the river and surrounds. Enjoyed the boating, swimming and general relaxation. The accommodation was a pleasant surprise, more than adequate for their needs. Rene, the camp manager, went out of her way to make their weekend a memorable one. The family is already planning a return visit!
