We only went in to see the flowers. After all the reviews on Facebook, we were quite disappointed. Was expecting to see lot of flowers growing naturally. Instead it was a Planted garden of quiver trees and daisies the best flowers we found was right next to the dam were we found little gems here and there. Nothing like what we were expecting. On the outskirts of town two days later after the rain, we saw more flowers on the hillside.

The draught has certainly left its mark here. The dam level is very low compared to 2016 when I last visited it. The rest of the place is very neat though. It is also safe for campers. I took my own mini hike early Sunday morning along the dam.

Fun weekend because of good company, but the facilities were really primitive. E.g. there isn't even a door for the bathroom in one of the two-bedroom rooms and one of the massive windows in the bedroom only have see-through curtains. The cutlery & crockery weren't very clean when we got there. Everything was just very, very outdated. NO/Unstable wifi connection even if you pay the extra outrageous R300 just to be connected for a while.

All in all. Don't expect much. If nature coupled with no privacy is your thing then this is for you. Otherwise it is pretty outdated & the place definitely needs some work.

Campsite run by what appear to be a syndicate of some sort. It's pure chaos in campsite during wknds with no rules no security and no respect for fellow campers. Site is incredibly neglected and full of weeds. If you looking for peace in a safe camping environment, this is NOT the place.

The price is right for the very basic accommodation overlooking a lovely dam. Disappointing to see so much garbage around the day picnic and angle area/ bra ai spots need cleaning up.
