Riverbend Chalets & Campsite

Discover a tranquil, natural sanctuary in the heart of the popular KZN South Coast at Riverbend Chalets & Campsite. Perfectly situated in the quiet suburb of Umtentweni, this is a destination that offers a profound sense of peace and a deep connection to nature. While the bustling main beaches and attractions are just a short drive away, the resort itself feels like a world of its own, a beautiful, secluded haven nestled on the banks of the Umtentweni River.

The resort is a true paradise for nature lovers. It is completely surrounded by lush, indigenous bush and forest, a thriving ecosystem that attracts an incredible abundance of birdlife and small, shy wildlife. The river itself is the heart of the experience, offering a serene and beautiful setting for relaxation. For a truly unique and memorable adventure, when the river is full, you can hire one of the classic Canadian-style canoes and enjoy a scenic two-kilometer paddle all the way down to the ocean.

The intimate camping area is designed to be a comfortable and welcoming space for the whole family. The beautiful, pet-friendly campsites are all equipped with convenient electric plug points, providing all the essential comforts for your stay. These are supported by a clean and well-maintained ablution building, which offers a choice of showers and a bath, as well as a dedicated area with double sinks for washing up. With a range of self-catering accommodation also available, Riverbend offers the perfect, peaceful base for your next South Coast getaway.
