Buffelsrivier Camping

After seeing numerous rave reviews about Buffelsrivier we decided to pay it a visit on our way home from the Cape. We weren't disappointed. What a gem of a place. It caters for all camping preferences, be it on lush green grass , in a group, or if you prefer, there are lovely well appointed individual spots, all with running water, lights, braai spots and electricity. There are even swimming spots to escape the heat! If you like wild camping there are plenty of options to find a space as the farm is huge! Isak and Talita are an enterprising young couple who have really created a beautiful spot to visit. We highly recommend it.

What an amazing spot. We had a massive campsite with all the essentials in the middle of an 8000ha farm. We drove for hours just on the farm (definitely 4x4) ...along the river bed tumbled in stones and amidst the gigantic lava rock mountains.
Incredible scenery. Amazing, thoughtful and friendly owners. The ablutions are rustic but clean.
Only 10mins into Laingsburg where you can buy supplies.
And the BEST news .... pet friendly.

MOORDENAARS KAROO

We stayed at Buffelsrivier for 4 days. It was the perfect combination of camping and farm life. The campsite is well kept and the ablutions are clean. They offer horse riding on the river, which we opted to do. Talita guided us on handling and riding our horse, and she was very reassuring throughout the ride and took it at our pace. Buffelsrivier provides you with an authentic Karoo experience with the convenience of a traditional campsite.

Buffelsrivier Camping is located in the Hart of the Moordenaarskaroo about 9km out side of the town Laingsburg.

The privately owned 8000ha farm encourages you to roam around when you're Wild camping or enjoy the Campsites with all the necessary facilities.
Bring your family to enjoy nature and farm life, bring your furry friends with you to enjoy the fun.

Take a break and take in the beautiful karoo the Western Cape has to offer.

All campsites have;
- Electricity and water points
- Braai area
- Floodlight

The lawned areas allow for individual camping and/or a larger group(s).
Rammetjie Uit Nek (#5) is a small semi private site.
Additional semi private sites are under construction.
The ablutions are centrally located and easy to reach. The kitchen is equiped with the necessary equipment for those in need of a kitchen.

Ice and wood is on sale with the honesty system.

Wild Camping
Your camp ready 4x4/trailer is all you need and you can camp anywhere on the 8000ha farm or on any of the designated wild camp spots.

This was an amazing adventure and experience. From (easily) booking with Izak to entering the premises was flawless.
The facilities are very well maintained and clean, and the meat that is available from the farmer is a must.
You will definitely see us again.
