Every stand is provided with its own tap and braai facility, as well as access to a power point. Because the power points are positioned at a distance, it is essential for campers to bring along a long extension cable of at least 30 meters. We stayed in the self-catering cottage for 4-nights in Nov 2025, while doing some hiking & birding in the surrounding countryside. Mark & Karen are perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome, cooking superb evening meals and breakfasts. We were very excited to see a pair of red-throated wrynecks while sitting on our veranda, and if the weather had been better I’m sure we’d have seen a lot more.

Mark and Karen are great hosts. Thank you. Park, relax, then walk about 50 m to the shops and mini market if it is on. Very safe town. Room and bathroom is spacious.

I decided on the spur of the moment to stay over on a Sunday night after a particularly stressful Saturday. The garden is beautiful and well-maintained, my room was cosy and lovely. No TV but it was not needed!! I could wander around the garden, relax on the verandah and just generally soak up the serenity of a peaceful country town. De Kotzenhof is situated in the heart of town and so convenient to explore the shops on foot ... as well as getting in some much needed steps! Karen & Mark are wonderfully warm and inviting hosts. A thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended stay.

Mark and Karen are the ultimate hosts. They are friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much effort.

Their guest house is stylishly decorated with small touches that make it feel like home.
The restaurant has a great selection, and everything is freshly cooked by Mark himself - a trained chef. The restaurant works on bookings only.

The small country shop and deli has a stunning collection of homemade products from jams to biscuits to sauces and preserves.

There is a putt putt and trampolines for the kiddies.
The view from the patio is breathtaking.
