We camped on plot 102 and the location was a solid 10/10. It’s incredibly close to the lagoon, and you can hear the beach from your tent, which was a real highlight. Our plot didn’t have a braai or a water tap, so we made use of the nearby facilities.
The ablutions are about a 6/10 — they could definitely use an upgrade, but there is warm water. Water pressure is fine as long as you’re showering alone. They are cleaned daily, which we really appreciated. Just remember to bring your own toilet paper, as this isn’t supplied.
For the season of life I’m in, with two kids under 7, the camp was perfect. We spent every day at the beach, and it made for a relaxed and enjoyable stay.

Disgusting, unacceptable, and an absolute rip-off.

I booked Chalet 21 at Uilenkraalsond Resort for a wedding I was photographing in Gansbaai, deciding to make it a family trip with my husband and son. I paid in full, only to arrive on Saturday morning and be told that my booking was entered for the wrong date. To make matters worse, Chalet 21 was not available, and I was handed the keys to Chalet 11 instead—which turned out to be an absolute nightmare.

The moment we opened the door, we were hit with a stench so unbearable—a combination of death, fungus, and pure filth. The chalet was in a horrific state:

• No braai, no grids
• A disgusting shower that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years and a “dining room table” that looked like it has been there for as long as I am old!!
• Mattresses with actual holes in them.
• No bedding. Nothing.

This place was completely unlivable. Without hesitation, we left immediately and found a stunning guesthouse nearby—for the exact same price—where the owner went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. That’s how hospitality should be.

To make matters even more infuriating, when I informed security that I was leaving because the place was disgusting, they casually mentioned that I should have booked a different house instead. So even they know how bad it is.

I will be sending a formal complaint and demanding a full refund. This level of negligence and false advertising is unacceptable. I will never set foot in this place again, and I strongly urge others to stay far, far away.

Not a great experience. Underage smoking of kids at the shop. Shop owner just laught when I confronted him about selling cigarettes to under age kids. Shop prices changes everyday. Camp looks run downed with very little maintenance done. Not sure I'll return again.

A nice place, very close to the sea. The actual chalet needs a bit of maintenance, bathroom isn't and kitchen is nice tidy. The one tap in the kitchen would rattle if someone used the toilet. But nice braai facilitie and outside baisin
