River Goose Campsite is in a great location and the grounds are perfect for families and groups. Well maintained ablutions however a note that the water is not drinkable. This was only really an issue as I was traveling by bicycle and could not easily source bottled water. Also, the ‘no music’ rule stated upon entry does not exist in reality.

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway where you can truly switch off and rest, this campsite is an excellent choice. Booking was quick and easy via email. Although there is no electricity, the tranquility more than makes up for it. We stayed at Site 6, most sites are spacious, grassy, and surrounded by plenty of trees. Sites 1–8 are set along the riverbed, and if you’d like to fish directly from your campsite, Sites 1, 2, 3, and 7 are great options. Most campsites have well-maintained lawns, with the exception of Sites 1 and 2, which are more natural but still lovely and private.

The bathrooms are basic but clean and provide everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The owners were friendly and made a point of checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return for another visit.

It is a lovely campsite located next to the river with large shaded and grassed stands . It is pet friendly which is a huge plus for us.
It would have been great if they had electricity. River Goose offers a lot and is a great camp site - however rate of R380/night is above market average for a site that does not have electricity.

First time camping out at the River Goose Campsite with family members and we had a relaxing yet amusing time. The plot was spacious and clean shower facilities provided. The kids especially enjoyed the outdoors and we kept them and ourselves entertained. Will definitely experience the campsite area again in future. The owner is also friendly and understanding. Thank you.

Always a great campsite. Well maintained . Right next to the river . Plenty of shade and easy access to river for a swim and for cannoes. Great for kids and family get away.
