Buffalo Bay Caravan Park occupies one of the most unique and spectacular pieces of real estate on the entire Garden Route. Situated on a grassy peninsula that juts out into the ocean, this park is virtually surrounded by water, with the powerful waves of the Indian Ocean on one side and the calm, sheltered bay on the other. This incredible setting, located within the Goukamma Marine Protected Area, provides an immersive seaside experience unlike any other.

Waking up here means you are just a few steps from the sand, no matter where your campsite is located. The park offers a generous number of grassed stands, many with unbeatable views, suitable for both caravans and tents. These sites are equipped with electrical points and are serviced by clean ablution facilities, providing the essential comforts for a classic beach holiday. A playground on-site also offers a fun distraction for younger children.

The main attraction is, of course, the water. The sheltered main beach is a paradise for families, offering safe swimming and perfect conditions for learning to surf. The opposite side of the peninsula is a haven for anglers and explorers, with fascinating rock pools and excellent fishing spots. During the winter months, the elevated position of the park makes it a phenomenal land-based whale-watching spot. It’s an idyllic, back-to-basics destination where nature provides all the entertainment you could ever need.

It was fantastic, great service and the best place to camp, with so many things to do, great beaches for swimming, surfing, fishing with lifeguards. The campsite is great and does get busy, really good for families. Well done and thank you!

It's a gorgeous campsite and place to stay in Buffalo Bay if you don't get to stay in a house. The whole town is very cute and you're able to walk anywhere you want within a few minutes. The beach is also beautiful with a large sand dune to climb, big waves for surfers, and many rock pools for fishing or exploring the marine life for kids. The campsite itself has beautiful grass fields and the ablutions are in decent condition, however the showers are a bit poorly designed to keep the water from splashing on your clothes. There are tiny stools you can put your clothes on however. At the campsite your basically surrounded by ocean all the way around so sunsets and sunrises are beautiful. You might also be able to spot dolphins or whales in the distance. There is also a playground for the kids and designated braai areas for most spots. Highly recommend it not only for the campsite but for the whole town.

It is well situated overlooking Buffalo Bay and has level electrified sites. Unfortunately it did not have any water. Maybe this is why we were the only people camping there.

Beautiful campsite right on the sea. Our stand was clean with a braai, power point, tap and basin. The view was spectacular. Bathrooms was clean and enough hot water. The staff was friendly and helpful. We intended to stay one night but like it so much we stayed for two nights. Although it was over a long weekend, it wasn't too crowded or noisy. Will definitely be back!
