Description

Wawielpark is a high-energy water and amusement park located right on the banks of the Vaal River, offering an action-packed holiday for the whole family. Situated on the Free State side of the river, just a short drive from Klerksksdorp and Potchefstroom, this resort is a legendary destination for families who want non-stop entertainment from morning until night.

While the park is a bustling hub for day visitors, it offers a dedicated and convenient camping area for those who want to stay overnight. This section of the park features a focused selection of campsites, each equipped with a power point to ensure your basic comforts are covered. The camping area is serviced by communal ablution blocks, which thoughtfully include wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and dedicated facilities for porta potties.

The incredible array of water attractions is the main draw. The park features four cold water swimming pools, an exhilarating wave pool, and three super fun water slides that provide hours of entertainment. For cooler days, a large indoor heated pool ensures the fun never has to stop. Great experience.
Pools lovely.
Few water slides that were fun.
Small restaurant.
Lovely ice cream shop, selling the best waffles and ice cream.

Visited 3 times. Twice as Day visitors and one time booked into a Diamond suite, 3 story apartment.
Within this apartment was an amazing jacuzzi, well equiped with items you mostly need. With a view of the river right outside your door.

Only thing experienced recently as a Day visit, I wont be driving all the way from Joburg again, as we were not allowed into one specific pool and indoor heated pool which was a bit of a bummer.
Though I understand they likely want to give the residents that booked in a more private and peaceful experience during their longer stays.

Still recommend visiting or rather booking for a few days to enjoy the stay a bit more.

An absolutely amazing place. We stayed there for our family Christmas reunion with over 40 family members. It is extremely well maintained and the staff make the resort so pleasant and memorable. They are extremely helpful and friendly. There is so much to do the entire time. It is structured really well, they received alot of day visitors on Christmas day, however there are areas that are only for residents only so you do not have to worry about over crowding. They have a bar, restaurant and shop which are all really well priced and well stocked. The two houses we stayed in were really comfortable, they had cleaners come in every day and there is DSTV. The only reason I have not given them a 5 star rating is because of the amount of flies there. Because of the animals there, there is a massive problem with flies. I think they could put out more bait to reduce the flies.

The resort is very well looked after and kept neat, clean, and tidy.

The staff are friendly and helpful whenever assistance is needed, and even when simply walking past, everyone greets you warmly.

The only negative aspect was the restaurant pricing. The menu prices did not always match what was billed. For example, a toasted sandwich was listed at R40 on the menu but was charged at R50 on the bill. Additionally, when asking staff about prices, the cost of a drink varied — R25 at one point and R30 just a few hours later.

Overall, it is a lovely resort, and we will definitely be back.

The facilities are well kept, warm pool was our favourite. Kids loved the the variety of activities. We spotted 4 fish eagles on the river, and we caught several fish. Kids had a ball whilst parents could relax in a safe well managed resort. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Well done and Thank you.

It is a great place to let go and be yourself. The slides and rides are worth your time and money. Kids are still kids there and families reunite in harmony
