The camping experience is utterly unique. You are invited to park your caravan or pitch your tent within the beautiful, deep shade of a large, mature Oak Forest. This is not a conventional campsite with neat rows; it is a truly secluded and private experience, a place where you are surrounded by the gentle rustle of leaves and the quiet presence of wildlife. As the hosts charmingly suggest, a world of mushrooms, mammals, shy foxes, and perhaps even a few fairies awaits you in this magical woodland setting.

The experience is authentically rustic and off-grid, with no electricity to spoil the natural ambiance. Evenings are for campfires and the breathtaking, starry Highveld sky. Your comfort is well-catered for in a wonderfully traditional way. A classic "donkey boiler" in the ablution block, for which wood is provided, ensures you will have plenty of hot water for a shower, a relaxing bath, or to wash your dishes. With a convenient gas stove also available, you have everything you need for a truly unforgettable and magical camping experience.

There is a 3-4km dirt road from the main which in some places is rough. Once we managed to find reception and someone to show us to our accommodation we were pleasantly surprised. The units are lovely stone buildings. We had everything we needed for self-catering... from tea, coffee, rusks to firewood and even a lighter.

We had a lovely over night stop at this beautiful farm. With views across the mere and fields full of farm animals and oak trees to walk around I felt as if I was in England. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. We had a delicious home made dinner and kept warm around our bedroom fire. Great for a stop over or a country getaway.

What a great experience with the woods and the whole guest farm. We were invited in to choose a room that we wanted and half way through the day we were able to switch rooms just because that's what we as guests wanted. Thanks to Zotwa, Aretha and Pieter for the great hospitality and warm welcome. Our 1year old daughter was amazed when you let her feed the geese and the lambs, that was a great experience. You WILL most definitely see us soon, again and again.

Great setting. Lovely old sandstone buildings. Relaxed atmospheres. The rooms are not 4 star level and need some upgrading and tlc. I believe accommodation owners should spend a night in their own establishment's and look at the offering in detail. In our room the setting of the correct water temperature was a challenge, the mats in the bathroom looked old and grubby. The holes in the bed cover unacceptable.

The sound of the birds wake you up to fantastic, tranquil views. The cottages are very comfortable and equipped with all thr things you night need to relax and unwind. The fireplaces adds an amazing touch to an overall great atmosphere and experience.
