The atmosphere is defined by the gentle presence of roaming game like kudu and blesbok, often seen grazing nearby alongside the farm’s resident sheep and donkeys, creating a uniquely grounded and peaceful experience.

The campsite offers an intimate selection of stands, each meticulously maintained on seasonal grass and sheltered by large, indigenous shade trees. A standout feature of this camp is the emphasis on personal space and convenience; every site is equipped with its own private ablution block, featuring a spotless shower, flush toilet, and hand basin. Campers also benefit from a private scullery area for washing dishes and a well-positioned braai and fire pit area, ideal for long evenings spent under the expansive African sky.

Families are particularly well-catered for, with a dedicated children’s playground featuring swings, and slides, as well as a small swimming pool to provide relief during the warm bushveld afternoons. For the more active, the internal farm roads offer excellent opportunities for gentle birdwatching walks or mountain biking. With reliable electricity at each site and the welcoming hospitality of a family-run farm, it provides a comfortable, low-stress gateway.

Just spent a few days at this lovely campsite! Eagles Nest is super - 8 sites all with private ablutions, a braai, electric power and a fire pit. Lots of shade, a kiddies play area and a small pool. On a working farm, so there are some busk as well as sheep that roam around the campsite.
Nice and quiet.
Eagles Nest is on the road between Bela/Bela and Thabazimbi.

We had an unforgettable stay at Eagles Nest Bush Camp in August 2025, located between Bela-Bela and Thabazimbi. From the moment we arrived, we felt a sense of peace and tranquility. The camp, which is small and private, offers just eight spacious stands, each with a braai area, private ablution facilities, and a small kitchen area. The solar-powered camp has excellent water pressure and warm showers, making it a perfect eco-friendly getaway.

Nestled in a beautiful bushveld setting, the camp is home to wildlife such as kudu, blesbok, and even a rare black rooibok. There are walking trails to explore the peaceful surroundings. The boma area, complete with a kitchen, laundry facilities, and free Wi-Fi, became a great spot to relax and socialize with fellow campers. Frans and Tertia, the owners, went above and beyond to make us feel at home, hosting a pizza night in the boma’s pizza oven and organizing a fun rugby screening on Saturday nights.

The camp has a great family-friendly atmosphere, with a play area for kids, while the adventurous can enjoy hunting weekends. Despite the activities, it maintains a calm, laid-back vibe ideal for reconnecting with nature. The camp is easy to reach with well-maintained roads and excellent security.

An unexpected highlight was discovering that one of the other camping couples were the original owners of our caravan! It made for great campfire stories.

Overall, Eagles Nest Bush Camp is a peaceful, welcoming, and well-equipped retreat in the bush. We left feeling refreshed and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend this hidden gem! 10/10.

Hi fellow campers, Neels ( together with Gary and Flip these guy's marked the trees at Eiland, Tshipise and Swadini) told me about this excellent Bush Camp. I have met him at The Eiland Spa a couple of years ago. And again in Rocky Bay Caravan Park this year. When we plan our next adventure we will definitely keep this place in mind. It's on my bucket list.

We stayed at the boma. The amenities are in a perfect condition with everything you need. The farm is beautiful - we took a few walks and saw several antelope species, beautiful trees, etc. The hosts are very friendly, professional and helpful. Highly recommended!

The owners are so hospitable .Only 8 Huge sites . Private 5 star plus ablution block and braai areas.
Pay a visit to the Boma. It's Like an oasis .
