I took my disabled brother who permanently lives at heavenly haven care centre in Mookgopong for he's first holiday at Groot geluk Bushcamp and WOW WOW WOW I can definitely recommend this place,

He was accepted and loved there and even had a lekker swim, he really did enjoy he's time at this lovely place and oom Theo was excellent with him.

Thank you so much oom Theo, you made he's first holiday a real one!!

BEYOND DISAPPOINTED WITH GROOTGELUK!!!!!!!!!!!😡😡
Booked a 2 week stay for my employees, they arrived at Groot geluk, the place was beyond FILTHY and sooo STINKY! Sheets were so dirty, curtains weren’t even curtains, looks like a sheet that got hung up. Paid in full for 2 weeks ended up leaving after 2 nights as we could not handle the dirt and smell. None of the employees want to help put me through to management, this place is false advertising at its best. SCAMMERS!

Grootgeluk did not bring me geluk….dirty everything. Beds, disgusting… filled with bug poop, bugs and mud. Bathrooms, I don’t think has seen a drop of domestos in a decade. Manger definitely needs to be demoted. Do yourself a favour, safe your money and your personal health and do not EVER come here.

I think the lodge is really great. Not too far from Gauteng and the road is not too bad to get there. Nice animal's to see that roam freely and its really a great bush destination. staff are friendly and helpful especially Theo and we loved the swimming pool.

But.... the place is definitely not maintained. Looks like no money is being spent on upkeep. Our chalet was laterally falling apart. Floor boards rotten and cracked and when you took a shower the water would run through the floor boards to the bottom of the chalet. And the balcony wood is either broken or rotten. If you sat on the toilet, the toilet would tilt as the floorboards under it was rotten. the kitchen barely had any utensils and cutlery in even though its seen as self catering. When we asked about it, we were told that people steal the things. Surely it must be replaced ? We had to buy things to use in the kitchen like plastic containers and glasses. Rather tell people to bring stuff for the kitchen and not list it as self catering.
Aircon was also broken and we were given a fan that made so much noise we could not keep it on at night.
We had a 3 year old with us and there were 2 wasp nests and a massive bee nest at our chalet. One on our balcony. we mentioned it and they just said its on their to do list and they did ask someone to come out. what if we were attacked by them ?
also it seems as there we animosity between staff and the owners as there were constant arguing and everyone at the pool could hear it.

i would stay there again if its better maintained as the location is really nice.

I really hope the owners see this and start looking after their place better.
