What a incredible experience, lovely place and super friendly staff

On arrival we realised the caravan we booked was a bit to small for us and with no hesitation the owner Hennie offer us a bigger space one of the wooden cabins to enjoy our weekend away

This place is incredible they will definitely see us again

We went for a drink at the Rivershack and decided to order 10 Prego chicken wings, priced at R70.00. When the order arrived. ( R7.00 for a piece, or wing)..
Come on, guys, the plate looked so bland, not even a lettuce leaf or whatever. The serving was no way 10 wings. The bones were more than the meat on the wings !!!

Not a pleasant experience, suffered with heat stroke most of the time, cant dare to open an window or door during the evening to cool down, which means you are being suffocated 24/7, wooden cabin not clean and falling apart, infested with spiders and creepy crawlies.

Not as per the pictures on their site, Fridge does not cool properly, no stove, wooden river cottage not maintained, flooring is damaged, not even one fan provided when they know the cottage gets extremely hot, some of the windows are broken to they don't close properly so regardless you going to have insects entering, wooden porched loose planks and just fixed with nails which caused injuries to one of the children, Not worth the money paid for that place, could have had a decent house somewhere out on the west coast.

If you into red roman spiders and scorpions walking over you when you sleep, go for this place. imagine getting stung or bitten by one of these and you are miles away from an hospital no thanks.

Restaurant bar next to camping and cottage with load music / drunk people and bar fights not an holiday destination for Children,

Besides the accommodation which I did not visit was the knor varkie a pleasant surprise.

Vibe was nice, view was spectacular and service was great.

You can unwind and have something cold while enjoying some local music. 😉

Was not nice at all,went there to fish but with the continuous speeding of boats all the time the chances of actually getting a bite is slim,can't even cast near the opposite bank because you'd get cut off by the boats so you actually restricted to fishing just a few meters from the bank,if fishing is a secondary thought and not the main objective you'd probably be happy just chilling with friends in a camping chair
