Located on the banks of the Breede River near Worcester, this family-friendly farm is designed for those seeking a genuine escape. The entire philosophy of the campsite is built around peace and simplicity. To preserve the tranquil atmosphere for all guests, a strict no music policy is in place, ensuring the only soundtrack is the chatter of birds and the laughter of families.

This is a true back-to-basics camping experience. With around 30 un-demarcated sites spread across vast, shaded lawns, there’s plenty of space for kids to run free and for you to find your perfect spot. Embracing a genuine off-grid philosophy, the campsite has no electricity points. This encourages evenings spent around a crackling campfire, reconnecting with loved ones, and enjoying the brilliant night sky without light pollution.

The river itself is the main attraction, offering safe swimming, tubing, and a chance for a bit of fishing. All camping setups are welcome, from the smallest tent to the largest motorhome. While the experience is rustic, it’s also convenient. A small on-site shop stocks essential supplies like firewood and ice, and often has fresh farm produce and honey available, adding to the authentic farm-stay feel.

I love how the website shows each campsite's grass and shade percentage. Options of smaller campsites and bigger campsites for larger groups.
The river was lovely, canoes at disposal and the zipline was great.
Excellent bathroom conditions as well. This was my third time at Rivierplaas and will return soon, one of my favourites.

I visited with a group of friends and students earlier in the year.

Such a beautiful place to enjoy and unwind with the family.
We enjoyed it so much that we came back for a second stay only a few days after returning home from our first visit!
We will definitely be back again.
Paddling on the river was our favourite thing to do.
Well maintained campsites and great service.

Great experience. Campsites are appropriately shaded. We were in campsite G which was close to both the fishing area and the swimming area. Camps and bathroom facilities were always clean and in order. Were not too lucky with fishing but will come again.

Incredible campsite if you want somewhere to go with the kids. We were a four family group and had an amazing time. Lovely slow flowing river and zipline into the river which they enjoyed. A word of warning - take lots of insect repellant and keep your tent netting closed.

We ended up going camping at the last minute to check out our off-the-grid setup. What a lovely little place this is. What I enjoy most is the quietness. One of the rules is that you’re not allowed to play music, which I really appreciate, because I don’t enjoy being forced to listen to other people’s music....
