We spent this past weekend at Oewerzicht Farm Cottages and had a wonderful stay. The cottage we stayed in was lovely, and the bed was extremely comfortable — which is always an important part of any stay for me.
The kitchen area, along with the indoor braai and fireplaces, was a truly nice touch and made the cottage feel warm and welcoming. There was also a hot tub, which I personally didn’t use, but it came highly recommended by friends who made good use of it over the weekend.
One of the highlights of the weekend was the Lapa area. It rained on our second day, but all 40+ of us were still able to gather comfortably in the covered Lapa and enjoy our time together. It was the perfect space for a large group.
The only thing I felt our particular cottage lacked was a microwave. I understand this doesn’t apply to all the cottages, only some of the smaller ones.
The little town of Greyton, just a few kilometres from the farm, is picturesque and offers many excellent restaurants — perfect for a little outing during your stay.
All in all, we had a wonderful weekend and I would highly recommend Oewerzicht Farm Cottages to anyone looking for a special place to celebrate an occasion or enjoy a relaxing getaway.

Our stay at this self-catering accommodation was absolutely magical. The setting is breathtaking — overlooking a large, tranquil dam surrounded by mountains that seem to change color with every hour of the day. From sunrise to sunset, the view is simply unforgettable.

Each morning, we woke up to the sound of hundreds of birds singing — a natural symphony that made coffee on the patio even more special. Evenings were just as enchanting, with soft fairy lights twinkling around us while frogs sang from the water’s edge. It felt like something out of a storybook.

The accommodation itself was spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to host a small private function, with ample space and quality appliances. Every detail has clearly been considered to make guests feel at home.

If you’re looking for peace, beauty, and a touch of magic, this place is a perfect escape. We left feeling completely refreshed and can’t wait to return!

First time here, and not much has changed (referring to some of the bad reviews). Still no handwash in bathrooms, showers not that great either. Greatly overpriced campsite rates. The road to the campsites has overgrown tree branches, with the potential to scratch your vehicle and/or caravan. Drinking water taps few and far between. No aceess control by the looks of it. Nope! I will never come back to this place. Ever.👎👎👎

A peaceful venue and cottages alongside the Riviersonderend. Cottages are spotless, each one has a hot tub. The venue is great for wedding parties and birthdays and a lovely spot to spend a weekend relaxing.
