Nature's Rest

Location is great, road into property needs urgent attention, rooms have basic needs, place was dirty. Place was safe and birds were amazing. Was very quiet and peaceful, slept with windows and doors wide open as the temperature was hot and humid.
Great swimming pool.
Nice place to camp if traveling through.

We booked a two-night stay at Nature's Rest but unfortunately left very early after the first night.

The biggest concern was the condition of the ladies’ ablution facilities, which are in urgent need of maintenance. Most of the cubicle doors are swollen and cannot be locked properly, and the bath had heavy staining which made the water source look questionable. The ablution block is also quite far from the main campsite and there is no lighting along the path at night.

Although the grass had recently been cut, it was still quite long around our campsite and the estuary was completely overgrown with reeds. We were also warned not to walk to the beach due to incidents of intimidation and reports of aggressive dogs attacking people walking their dogs.

The booking process itself was professional, but the reception at check-in was very brief and no additional information about the facilities or surroundings was provided. Firewood is sold at R60 for a 12.5 kg bag, but the wood we received was not dry.

It’s a real pity because the location is beautiful, but the property appears neglected and poorly managed. Sadly this was a disappointing experience for us and we will not be returning.

Booked in with 15 other people.. we arrived Friday and there was no lights..until Saturday morning and out again Sunday morning... We could not wait to leave. Units smell like mould... Toilets leaked.management was not avail no lighting was offered nothing.

The crystal clear pool was the only highlight. Road is terrible going down ...black bag plastic wrapped around our pipes. Waking up to strong surege stenc.

No fans in units ... Smelly curtains all around.

Chalets needs maintenance geyser, toilet leaked and were dirty .There was a storm that shut electricity off for one night and owner did not even come and check if we have lights or candles. We are pensioners that needed a fridge to keep meds safe, but owner did not even bother to tell us they have generator at office for fridges. We booked 6person chalet but only 4 beds. 2 pensioners had to sleep on the floor with mattresses. Drove all the way from Cape Town. Stay away!!

Could be such an amazing place if the roads were bettwr to get there. The rondavals are very rustic. But the area is beautiful. A far walk from the beach but the little river is cute.
