The sites are private and covered, offering protection from the sun, and are serviced by a clean ablution block with showers and a toilet. With four power outlets available at the camp, it's the perfect, comfortable place to experience the incredible nightlife of the Kalahari, watching a breathtaking canopy of stars emerge in the clear desert sky.

For the more self-sufficient nature lover, the "Eco Veld Camp" offers a more private and immersive experience. This area consists of a handful of single, exclusive campsites, each with its very own private ablution block, a braai stand, and a power point - perfect for off-road trailers and those who value their own space. This camp is beautifully situated just a stone's throw from a waterhole, providing a constant parade of birds and other game that come down to drink, creating your own private, live wildlife show. Had a very nice stay. The chalet was kitted out with everything we needed. The sundowner drive was very nice, saw lots of animals and critters. We then went on the scorpion hunt and mowed all found it very interesting. The meerkat are just too adorable as well. Will definitely go back for a visit again.

If you want quietness.. this is the place for you. Meerkat running around, Gemsbok at the waterhole and most beautiful birds. I would suggest renting a chalet or camp and not rooms in the main house. About 60km from Kgalagadi

Highly recommend a morning walk at Kalahari Trails before heading off to Kgalagadi.

Kalahari Trails offers an unforgettable experience, and our one-week stay at the Tree Camp truly exceeded all expectations. Located just a 25-minute drive into the park, the Tree Camp is wonderfully secluded, nestled between the iconic red dunes of the Kalahari, giving you an incredible feeling of complete privacy and connection with nature.

The hosts were exceptional, going out of their way to make the stay special. One of the most unique highlights was spending time with the rescued meerkats—a truly rare experience. Feeding them insects was both fascinating and heartwarming, something you won’t find anywhere else.

The night drives on the property were equally spectacular. We were fortunate enough to see the elusive pink fairy of the bushveld, an aardvark on not just one but four occasions across two drives, as well as springhares and striped polecats.

During the day, walking through the red dunes offered the chance to spot gemsbok, springbok, and other wildlife up close.

Overall, Kalahari Trails Tree Camp is a remarkable place that combines tranquility, wildlife encounters, and genuine hospitality. We are already looking forward to returning for another stay.

Very reasonably priced accommodation and there are meerkats EVERYWHERE! It was so much fun hanging out with these little guys. We also had a sunset walk with Mareli, which we found very informative. We will be coming back this year.

On a side note, i'm a bit surprised at some of the negative reviews here. You come here to be in the nature and spend time with the meerkats, it's not a luxury hotel and nor should it be!
