Ovaflo Resort

Really really breath taking.
Its quite, its great for fishing,the staff is amazing... Always smiling and trying their utmost best to make you smile and relax.

Will be visiting soon as i think it would be my new camping, fishing and chilling place.

Very nice and peaceful place, love how well maintained it is. Lovely spots to chill as a family and even fish and camp too. Would definitely recommend that you try it out. Theres also a play area for kids so they will have fun

Great place to just go and relax for the day with your family and friends. I went there for our churches annual Family Day and besides the wonderful, warm and friendly fellowship, what made the day special was our surroundings.

The resort caters for those that want to bring your braai meats, food and snacks and just have a relaxed day in the sun. There is ample camping sites and shaded parking under a tree. You have the luxury of a slow flowing river from where you can cast your rod and wait for that big bite (not that we had anything to write home to on that front).

There are ablution facilities are basic by usable and clean. There is able space for you to play ball games, and just let the kids run around. Security fencing and an entrance gate serves as security for the kids and your property.

Bear in mind that you will need to travel a short distance on gravel to get to the resort but it's a rather decent road. My recommendations is go early and find a nice shaded spot under the trees. Bring fold up tables and chairs as none are provided. Also, l recommend you bring enough braai wood and your own braai stand or roster although there are available.

And then, don't forget clean water and toilet paper. The rest l will leave to your personal satisfaction.

After leaving Mac Nicol's to start our visit to the Midlands Meander, we decided our best option was to find a campsite near to the start of the Midlands Meander.  Using our vast reserve of resources, we came upon the Ovaflo Resort where it had a great review in the "Camp and Caravan" magazine that has been endorsed by " Lekker Kampplekker".
Putting in the GPS coordinates we set sail for our destination and to be honest, upon arrival we were somewhat reluctant to believe that this was the best option for a campsite.  However once we had set up camp, we realized it was an absolute gem of a find, with the exquisite bird life on the banks of the Mgeni River.  The river flows gently through the camp and is very popular with the fresh water fishing enthusiasts.  We spent two nights enjoying the sounds of jackal calling into the night with the owls hooting somewhere close by in the well established trees that the campsite is nestled beneath. While the ablutions are not equipped with marble top counters and fancy taps, they are more than adequate with clean showers and toilets, piping hot water which every camper desires.  We had a very enjoyable stay and after spending two nights, we were sad to leave the friendly ducks and birds who had become our friends.
