Characters Garden Park

I've now spent four weeks at Characters Garden Caravan Park. And what can I say? It was fantastic. The site is absolutely well-maintained, you can park under large, shady trees, and there are plenty of shore power and water hookups. The ablution blocks and laundry facilities are a bit older, but spotlessly clean, and the staff keeps everything tidy every day.

The hosts are incredibly friendly, and Jean even helped me with my air conditioning problem.

Pennington is a charming little town with extremely friendly people.

From the campsite, you're just a few steps from the sea, where you can go fishing or take long walks on the beach.

If you don't want to drive, you can easily walk to OK Food + Liquor Store, a pharmacy, a beach cafe, and several small shops.

In short: A place you'll definitely want to return to.

The camp grounds are nicely maintained. Each site is level, and a good size that comfortably accommodates a caravan, with a awning/tent and a car. There are well placed taps and power points. The ablutions are well thought out, spotlessly clean and in excellent condition. Water pressure in the showers is great. There is a laundry facility on site.Pets are allowed by prior arrangement, something to keep in mind. There is very easy walking access to the beach. The nearby OK Grocery store is well stocked. Birdlife in Characters is plentiful....... Subsequent to above review, we returned for another visit. No change, just a good.

Lovely place. Lots of varied vegetation provides plenty if shade if needed and makes it a birders paradise. Ablutions, wash up areas, etc. all clean and functional. 3 min walk to the beach. Will be back.

Characters Garden Park is a fantastic campsite with an unbeatable location near the beach. The peaceful atmosphere, clean and well-kept facilities, and spacious camping spots make it a perfect getaway. Being so close to the ocean is a real highlight—you enjoy beautiful beach walks anytime. The staff are friendly and welcoming, which adds to the overall great experience. A wonderful spot for families, couples, or anyone wanting a relaxing seaside escape. The playarea and swimming pool was a great place for the kids to have fun. Highly recommended!

We will see you again!

Thank you to Vivienne, Jean and their adorable dog, Leila for a wonderful visit. Our second vacation there. It is a lovely caravan park, with clean amenaties, a pool and games room for the kids.
They also sell ice and wood on the premises. There is wifi and guarding of the area at night. Within in walking distance to a lovely beach.
