We spent Valentine’s weekend at Bass Lake Lodge and my husband and I had the most amazing time. From the moment we arrived, we felt the peaceful atmosphere. It’s quiet, relaxing, and truly the perfect place to just breathe and unwind.
The lodge really goes the extra mile. The lakes are beautiful (perfect for fishing), and the views are absolutely breathtaking. It’s not self-catering, which made the experience even more special. Our breakfasts and dinners were phenomenal. The Valentine’s dinner was a carefully curated set menu that was so memorable, with truly 5-star quality food.
They also have a lovely spa and a swimming pool, which just adds to the overall experience.
Bass Lake Lodge will definitely see us again. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a romantic and peaceful weekend getaway.

We were camping next to the bass dam. Excellent venue, very stylish ablution blocks. Well spaced private stands. We ordered salads and pap tert for Sunday with our BBQ. Delicious food. The restaurant is well priced with fast and friendly service. Lots to see and do.

Close to Jhb and Pta, this place is a hidden gem. Large, grassy and well demarkated sites with power and water. The ablutions are beautiful and clean, and the whole place is well maintained. The kids can bring their bikes, swim and fish, and the lodge has a restaurant. Fantastic for a weekend break, and very well priced.
