Aldam Holiday Resort

We stayed over on our way to Cape Town (4 adults). The two-bedroomed bungalow is very spacious, and super clean.
We loved the beautiful view of the dam.
They experienced a power problem while we were there, and when the power was restored, our unit still had no power. A call to the emergency number quickly had that sorted out.
Staff members were friendly and helpful.
The main bathroom with bathtub is spacious and convenient, with ample space to put things down. The 2nd bathroom with shower is smaller, but the built-in shower seat made it ideal for one elderly guest.
The beds were comfortable, with extra blanket provided.
The air-conditioning in the bedrooms worked really well. The air-conditioning in our living room area did not work, and seemed to be the source of the electrical problem. We did not bother with this, and I think if we had requested it, management would have sent someone out or would have moved us to an adjacent unit.
I was pleasantly surprised by Aldam Holiday Resort, and can recommend staying over. There is ample space and playground areas for kids.

Our third visit in a year, and every single time it feels like a home away from home. 💚

From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The shop had everything we needed — and that’s where I met Martie for the first time. So friendly, so helpful, and genuinely kind! 🌼

We had a few small hiccups the first night, but Martie had everything sorted by 8 a.m. the next morning. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her! 🙌

A huge thank-you to all the staff — from Elvis to the two lovely cleaning ladies at the Director’s House — everyone was so welcoming and friendly. 💕

The restaurant food was also delicious! 🍽️

Aldam is honestly one of the nicest resorts ever — peaceful, well-kept, and full of heart. 🌿

Important warning to families with children: This establishment is not suitable for families. Despite being long-term, returning visitors, our recent experience has convinced us that we will never return.
The venue was poorly managed, with student groups dominating the environment. Loud music played throughout the day and continued into the early hours of the morning, only stopping around 4:00 AM. There was no effective enforcement of rules, and intoxicated young adults frequently wandered into our campsite, creating an unsafe and uncomfortable situation.
Given the lack of supervision, constant noise, and safety concerns, we strongly advise families not to book here. Even as loyal, long-term guests, we can no longer recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a safe, respectful, and family-friendly environment.

This establishment is not suitable for families. During our stay, the environment was poorly managed, with students effectively running the premises. Loud, inappropriate music continued until approximately 4:00 AM, showing a complete lack of consideration for other guests.

There was little to no enforcement of basic rules or respect for shared spaces. Intoxicated young guests were repeatedly falling over and entering our campsite, which felt unsafe and unacceptable.

Overall, the lack of supervision, noise control, and respect for guests makes this venue unsuitable for families or anyone seeking a peaceful stay. I would strongly advise against booking here if you value rest, safety, and a respectful environment.

The hall we were using was overlooking the dam. Such a beautiful sight. The staff was helpful and friendly.
The resort is so big with multiple accommodation options, but it is so well kept and clean.
The food was exceptional.
