Dinokeng Resort

We had such an amazing time at Dinokeng Resort. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by friendly, helpful staff who made us feel at home. The grandkids absolutely loved the waterslides, kiddies’ play area, big chess board, and the well-stocked convenience store. We enjoyed relaxing by the pool and pool bar. Kompik Restaurant offers delicious food with an amazing view. This trip was a lovely walk down my childhood memory lane, and it was incredibly special sharing it with my grandkids. Perfect for a fulfilling family holiday with lots of activities — we will definitely be back!

This was a disappointing stay. Myself and my fiancé went over valentine's weekend for a get away. We did not have electricty at our campsite for 90% of the time. I definitely understand the electricity situation was not the resorts fault. However wile we were away we had someone watch our house and the dogs at the house in our complex. Only myself and my fiancé can receive phone calls to let people enter and exit the complex. With the power issues I asked at the shop if they could help us just charge our phones to so we able to receive the calls to let the people watching our house in and out. I was met with a rude response of "there is no power" I replied "yes I can see there is no power but do you have a generator or solar" I was told there was no solar or generator. I left and went back to the camp site to charge my phone In the car. When I returned to the shop there was power in both the shop and bar yet no power at the camp sites. They blatantly refused to help just one phone even knowing the situation. Also with regards to the service. You can expect to wait 30 min for one cocktail even when there are only two people at the bar. The bar tender would much rather chat up two ladies sitting at the end of the bar than help service you one cocktail. Our neighbours had the same situation at the bar complaining that there is no one ordering but yet it takes 30 min to get one beer. This resort will most certainly not make any plans to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.

We really enjoy our stays at Dinokeng Resort — it’s one of our favourite places to visit, and we always have a great time! The staff are friendly, the shop is well stocked, and the pizzas are absolutely delicious.

However, I’d like to give some constructive feedback. The ablutions/toilets closest to the shop are unfortunately very dirty and unhygienic. Even though these are newly built, it seems like the toilet walls never get cleaned, and the floors and toilets themselves could use much more attention. The other ablution blocks used by campers also aren’t very clean — the doors could do with a fresh coat of paint, and the water flow in the showers could definitely be improved.

We really love Dinokeng and often bring friends and family along, who book their own stands. We’d love to keep coming back once these issues are addressed.

Very disappointed with our stay. The resort is extremely overpriced for what you actually get. The service was poor, and there was absolutely no value for money. Basic expectations were not met, and overall the experience did not justify the amount charged.
What is even more frustrating is that I had to personally follow up regarding the refund of my deposit. It has now been 10 days, and the refund still has not been processed. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.
Unfortunately, I would not return or recommend this resort to anyone. Definitely not worth the cost.

We enjoyed our stay but there were small problems namely the internet signal was super bad, the power supply also variable and resulting in frequent trips. The ablution facilities were clean and swimming pools hot and cold very clean. Noticeable our stands were not clean when we arrived and our dustbins were never cleaned for entire week we were there. Very noticeable was the poor maintenance thru out the camp related to the campsites neatness.( Weeds, overgrown grass on and around the stands.)
