Discover a truly intimate and welcoming bushveld retreat at Boma in the Bush. This is not a large, impersonal resort, but a small and personal camp where hospitality and community are at the very heart of the experience. As its name suggests, the central focus of the camp is its wonderful communal boma area, a classic African gathering place that serves as the social hub for all guests. It’s the perfect, relaxed environment for both seasoned local campers and adventurous overlanders to come together, share stories, and forge new friendships under the vast, starry sky. The boma area itself is exceptionally well-equipped, designed to provide a comfortable and convenient space for cooking and socializing. It features a number of braai stands for that classic campfire experience, as well as the thoughtful inclusion of gas stoves, a communal fridge, and extra electrical points, all sheltered under a roof. With a large table and chairs, it’s the perfect place to prepare and enjoy a meal, no matter the weather. This fantastic central hub is complemented by spacious stands for caravans, motorhomes, and tents, each with its own electrical and water points. What truly elevates the experience is the personal touch of the hosts, Abel and Elsa Jonker. Their passion for hospitality is evident in every detail, from the braai stands and dustbins at every site (cleaned twice daily) to the warm welcome extended to all visitors. For a truly special treat, guests can book an excellent bushveld dinner at the on-site restaurant, a perfect way to experience authentic local cuisine. With a special focus on catering to overlanders on their way to and from other African adventures, Boma in the Bush is a true home-away-from-home on your journey.
