Description
Breede Otter Campsite offers a family-friendly and vibrant riverside escape just ninety minutes from Cape Town. Located along the banks of the Breede River, about 20 minutes drive from Worcester, this destination is a playground for water enthusiasts and families looking for an active outdoor getaway. The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, characterized by the sight of kayaks and floaties on the water and the gentle hum of the resort’s iconic double-decker riverboat taking guests on lazy afternoon cruises.

The resort features a vast, sprawling layout divided into three distinct sections to suit different camping styles. The main area and the Colgans camp offer a generous number of stands set on lush, well-manicured lawns with varying degrees of shade from established trees. These sites are equipped with electricity and are ideal for those who enjoy a community atmosphere. For campers seeking a more secluded and authentic experience, the Bush Camp provides a smaller selection of riverfront stands that do not have electricity, emphasizing a quiet connection with the environment. Most stands include a mobile braai facility, though it is wise to bring your own grid.

Facilities at the resort are modern and thoughtfully designed, featuring newly built ablution blocks that are noted for their cleanliness and natural light. These blocks include unique family rooms with both showers and baths—a rare luxury that makes bathing the little ones a breeze. A well-stocked on-site kiosk provides essentials like wood, ice, and ice cream, while the communal lapa and firepit serve as a social heart for the park.
