One of our best camping experiences to date. The owners, Ronel and Dawie and their family are amazing and friendly hosts. They really put in a lot of effort into making the camping site as pleasant as possible for campers. Ronel was very attentive with our booking and kept in regular contact up to our day of arrival.
The campsite is very neat, clean and security gate access controlled. The ambience is serene and tranquil.
The ablution blocks are modern, clean and have power plugs available. The showers are spacious and there are also two family bathrooms.
The river is assessable for swimming and there are lots of space for families to have fun and enjoy themselves without it feeling crowded. Kayaking and floaties are allowed and there are dedicated areas for fishing. There is a zipline which is enjoyed by adults and children alike. The kids loves the open river space and can freely have fun in the river from early morning till sundown, with a watchful eye of an adult close by.
There is a riverboat that takes campers on a sunset cruise down the river. We unfortunately missed the boat ride but definitely have it on our to-do list for our next visit.
A well stocked kiosk is on site, which opens twice a day. They stock wood, ice, farm butter, home made jam, rusks, a variety of game products like Chilli bites, droëwors, jalapeño/curry/cheese braaiwors, patties, pies and ready made roosterkoek (freezed, just warm up on the grid) They also stock necessities like toiletries, cleaning agents as well as insect repellent etc.
