Description
Gouritsmond Caravan Park offers a classic South African beach holiday experience in a charming, small coastal village. Located near the mouth of the Gourits River, about 45 kilometres from Mossel Bay, this is the kind of place families have been returning to for generations. The park's main attraction is its immediate access to a natural playground: a seasonal Blue Flag beach and a wonderful tidal pool, which provides a safe and calm swimming spot for children.

The park itself is spacious, with 100 grassed campsites suitable for everything from a small tent to a large motorhome. Each site is equipped with an electrical outlet and features its own built-in braai, perfect for cooking up the day’s catch. The shared ablution blocks are kept clean and functional, providing reliable hot showers for a comfortable stay.

Days at Gouritsmond are naturally spent by the water, whether you’re fishing from the rocks, launching a small boat, or simply relaxing on the beach. Beyond the shore, the area is a haven for nature enthusiasts. Four well-marked hiking trails, ranging from short strolls to longer 8km loops, wind through the local fynbos and dunes. As the park is located within the Gourits Cluster Biosphere Reserve, it’s a prime spot for birdwatching, so keep an eye out for the endangered Black Oystercatcher.
