Braai Adventures

We went to Saldanha Holiday Resort for a day visit to have a braai. The entrance fee was R63 per person, and we had to leave by 6 PM. We went on a Saturday, but just a heads-up if you’re planning to go for the day, make sure you get there before 1 PM because the office closes at 1 on weekends. We almost missed the lady at the office, she had already locked up! Luckily there’s security around to open the gate for people still inside, but you can’t pay after the office is closed.

During the week the office is open until 5 PM and you can stay until 7, and on weekends it closes at 1 PM and you must leave by 6. I’d recommend giving them a quick call before you go, just to double check the times.

The camping areas were very neat and well kept. They also have chalets if you prefer not to camp. There’s water and electricity, and the bathrooms were big, clean, and tidy.

If you’re just going for a braai like we did, they’ve built three lapas there each one has a built in braai, wash up basin, plenty of counter space, a big cement table with chairs, and even a fire pit with seating around it. Such a nice surprise!

We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it if you want to take the family out for a braai in Saldanha. You can check out their website for more info if you’re interested in camping or renting a chalet.

This place feels like home, it's nice, it's big and there's a lot of things to do around here. We are going again this year on the 26 of March until the 1st of April, and I know it's going to be "Lekker".

The rooms were an average size, but the mattresses were dirty. The kitchen had cockroaches in. The fridge magnetic seal had baby cockroaches walking along. The toilet was clean but when using the toilet the lip kept falling on my back. This is just the chalets. The grounds were well maintained and the hall was recently revamped.
