Amazing campsite. The luxury campsites with their own ablutions and kitchen area were well maintained.

Marius was extremely helpful. The on-site home industry was fantastic. We ordered milk tart 😋 the garlic cheese and Chili 🌶 bread rolls, and the family portion malva pudding was excellent.

We burnt plenty of wood sitting around firepit. Big bags, and we'll priced. Marius was there with a 😃 smile to deliver.

Loved the giraffe 🦒 who visited us almost daily.

This was the most unpleasant camping experience we have ever had.

When we arrived on Saturday, we had to phone a number for reception. This number was only answered on the third try. Annelie sounded confused and asked us to remind her about our booking. The gate was then opened, and upon our arrival at our "Luxury Campsite," we were surprised and disappointed to see that old gecko droppings were on the shower and bathroom floor. There was no toilet paper, and it was evident that the bathroom/shower facility had not been cleaned in months. The rack in the shower was disgusting and rusted.

We found the rest of the area in the same state. The floor was dirty and covered with leaves and dust, and the kitchen sink was rusted and dirty as well. The geyser leaked, and by day two, I had to stand in water to wash dishes. The previous braai ashes were dumped just behind the boma area, with no one coming daily to clean the braai or anything.

The swimming pool was green and disgusting, and some of the chairs around the pool were broken and in poor condition.

By Tuesday, three days after our arrival, not one person came to us to greet us or ask us if all was okay. There is no cellphone reception, so we felt unsafe, especially also experiencing the cold welcoming. How do you phone, or how do you get help in this dark camp with no cellphone reception?

As we drove out on Tuesday morning for the day, Annelie was on her way out from the swimming pool, not recognizing us behind her. Only when we stopped, she must have realized something was wrong and turned to come and greet us. We then expressed our unhappiness, and she undertook to send a plumber out the same day. When we came back later in the day, we could see the bathroom and shower were cleaned and the geyser fixed because of parts lying around. We felt like they did not care enough about guests to make sure everything had been taken care of and cleaned before we came.

We originally booked for 10 days but left after 5 days. Never again!

We had a great experience at Bahati. We booked one of the ensuite luxury camp sites. The layout of the luxury camp sites affords visitors privacy in the sense that the sites are quite a distance from one another. There are lots of walking trails, and 4x4 routes (would only recommend some routes if you have 4x4, especially if it's muddy). We got stuck on one of the routes, and friendly staff member Rasta came to our rescue (shout out to him).
Game on the farm that we saw: Giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, blesbok, duikers, nyala. Great variety of bird life too.
Note: The stands are on a game farm, so expect some creepy-crawly visitors including bugs, bees, wasps, beetles, lizards, snakes. There are ticks in the area as well, so be sure to be prepared for this.

Stayed at Bahati for 7 nights on an "en-suite" site . Although the site is not grassed it was not dusty. The approximate 4KM gravel road from Hluhluwe town is in a very good condition .The outdoor kitchen area and living are with the braai and the pitbraai handy and nice to have. The regular visits of the Duiker, Nyalas and crested Guinea fowls were a daily highlight .Saw some nice antelope etc on our daily drives on the farm . The pool area was also clean and neat.. Negatives are that although Covid Regulations were repealed , it is used for a reason why the private ablution and kitchen are only cleaned on request , and then the passing of goods trains daily and sometimes in the middle of the night. are slightly disturbing . We will however recommend and return again.

Nice place to get away from everything. Each camping site has a covered area with a slab of concrete that can be used as an extension to your caravan. Very quiet and peaceful, but far from beaches. St. Lucia was 1 hour drive. Friendly hosts. Oh, even though it says that the water in the premises is drinkable, don't. It tasted salty and when we ran our water tester, it was way over the safe limits.
