Located in the stunningly beautiful Waterberg region of the Limpopo province at an altitude similar to Johannesburg, Matamba has one of the best climates in the world, with mild winters and temperate summers it can be visited all year round. With easy access from Johannesburg and Pretoria (only 2,5 hours drive). Just off the R33 between Vaalwater and Lephalale, Matamba is an ideal weekend getaway or stop over on the way to Botswana. Tau camp has five individual campsites: Francolin, Hornbill, Drongo, Oriole and Kingfisher. All sites are 150 to 200 metres apart so are very private. Each site can accommodate either a couple or several families from the same group. Mara’s camp is our private and exclusive campsite which can only be booked and accessed by one group at a time. It’s situated in the middle of the farm in a beautiful thick woodland with lovely tall shady trees. Weaver camp (overnight) is a secluded campsite surrounded by large Wild Seringa and Bush Willow trees, it’s been specifically set up for our overnight guests. Like all of our sites, it has no fences so blends beautifully into the surrounding bush. Matamba’s wildlife are constantly in and around the site, creating the perfect camping experience.
