Pine Lodge Resort

Fantastically close to the beach that was teaming with wildlife!
Unfortunately our unit was extremely dated (including all kitchen equipment and bathroom fittings). Appeared to have insufficient staff to service the place adequately as well. Electricity supply was routinely disrupted, and facility was not able to consistently bridge the gap adequately. Much more to add... but will leave it at that.

We loved the room although the mats were really dirty.And the TV channels there were only like 3 channels.And also no electricity we probbly had like 3hours of power A DAY we could not cook put on the fans or anything and correct me if im wrong but the office always has power but the guests have non the office has power at 3am when noone is in there but the tenets power is off would not reccomend if you came here for business or work The view is amazing but the place itself is not that good it would be so much better if they cleaned there carpets had power and cleaned the bathroom proppely.I mean who would pay R2000 a night to have no power.

Unfortunately, our stay was below expectations in several key areas.
The room itself had a strong mould smell, and there appeared to be mould present in the carpets. The bedding had a noticeable bleached smell, and the mattresses were extremely hard, making it uncomfortable to rest.
Housekeeping staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming, which impacted the overall experience.
On a positive note, the outdoor staff were excellent. They went above and beyond—assisting with luggage repeatedly, helping with offloading after trips, and even washing my boat. Their attitude and service were truly appreciated and stood out during our stay.

Overall, while the support staff outside delivered great service, the condition of the rooms and housekeeping experience need serious improvement.

Even though I read the bad comments of the recent past - I wanted to give it a try. I will never come again. This place is not suitable for camping!
We had campsite S22, with the generator situated right behind us/ behind site S21 (check the picture). This is not a small generator of a campervan - this is a big thing like a ship's engine. Placing it right between the campsites is a failure. There is no chance to avoid the noise. They didn't tell us, it would be running. Of course, when we asked they used the excuse, that they only use it, IF the communal power fails. But they should mention it anyways, especially if they're used to being cut off of power. They ran it from 6pm until 10pm. And in the morning the fired it up again at 6 am! If you though about a relaxed evening and a slow chilled out morning - forget about it. When I asked in the morning for a partly refund, because nobody told us beforehand, the receptionist got really pissed. I explained, that it's simply not fair to GUESTS. She said the would forward my complaint to the management - but I seriously doubt that. It would be better to place a generator in a place far away from the camping area. Another option would be to build a proper generator housing. Bit the receptionist wasn't interested in my complaint.
They have a chalkboard with the generator hours at the reception (check the picture), but they don't stick to these hours.
Also a disappointment: supposedly they run the generator so the whole resort has power. But as we tried to charge our toothbrush, while the generator was running, there was no power for the toothbrush. The receptionist had no excuse for that, unfortunately.
The washroom facilities were fine.
The overall look of the resort was between ok and poor. You can see, that the infrastructure is old and not regularly maintained. Broken wooden boards are not replaced for example.

Just don't do it, if you want to check in a place where they make you feel like you are living in the 80's.
Immediately as you check in, you are treated like a thief, even the staff is so scared of their policies. You also need to prepare R500 breakage fee. Funny thing is almost everything is broken in in the room
No wifi in the room
No heater in the room
No fan in the room, some have ceiling fan
The beds and mattress are from the 70's they smell damp and pee smelling
Everything is broken in the game room, pool table does not release all the balls.
Their swimming pool is really nice
The shower is not bad, hot water is good
You pay to stay here, they will make you feel like they are doing you a favor. There is so much wrong here. The location is nice though
