We have been loyal guests at Ou Skip for years, always coming back because we loved it here. But after what happened, we will never see this place the same way again. We stayed for 2 days and 2 nights, and even paid for a 3rd night yesterday morning. Then we had an urgent situation where our cats—kept in their carriers—had to be with us for less than 6 hours. Yes, I now know Ou Skip isn’t pet friendly, but they weren’t roaming around or causing trouble.
When I saw the “NO animals” notice on the documents, I immediately called the office to ask what to do. Instead of professionalism, I was met with Karen’s outright rudeness and hostility. I wasn’t asking for special treatment, but I certainly didn’t expect to be spoken to like a criminal. She told us we had to check out immediately and gave us 30 minutes before threatening to call the police. The police—for cats in carriers! This is outrageous.
We had just paid for another night, we had our 10‑year‑old daughter with us, and we were forced to pack in a panic while being chased out like criminals. And then, to top it off, we were banned permanently from Ou Skip. Permanently—over this? It is the most disgusting, disgraceful treatment we have ever received.
We didn’t mean to break the rules—that’s why I called the office in the first place. But instead of handling it with any decency, Karen’s nasty attitude left my daughter in tears, crying the entire morning, shaken to the point of a panic attack. That is cruel, heartless, and completely unnecessary.
Karen, I hope you’re proud of yourself for traumatizing a child and ripping away her favourite place for life. Your behavior was shameful, and we are utterly disgusted by the way we were treated.
