Description
Escape the city and immerse yourself in the vast, open spaces of the Sandveld at Klein Tafelberg. Located just a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Cape Town, this is a destination that offers a profound sense of getting away from it all. The landscape here is one of beautiful, uninterrupted scenery, where the days are filled with sunshine and the nights reveal a breathtaking canopy of stars, far from any city glow. While it feels wonderfully remote, it remains close enough to the amenities of Velddrift, offering the perfect blend of seclusion and convenience.

The main campsite is a masterclass in thoughtful design, perfect for a relaxing and comfortable stay. It is cleverly arranged into smaller, distinct camps, with each small group of sites serviced by its own dedicated ablution facilities. This unique layout provides a much more intimate and private feel than a single large block, ensuring less crowding and more convenience. Every single site within these camps is well-equipped with its own electricity and water point, and the communal lapa and swimming pool provide a wonderful social heart for the resort.

For the truly adventurous and self-sufficient camper, Klein Tafelberg offers the ultimate off-grid challenge. A handful of exclusive sites are located right at the top of the mountain, accessible only via a demanding track that requires you to transport all your own equipment. The journey itself is part of the adventure, but the reward is a level of seclusion and privacy that is simply unparalleled. From your mountaintop perch, you will enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views over the vast Sandveld, creating a truly unforgettable and wild camping experience.
