De Hoek Mountain Resort

In the heart of what should be the middle of nowhere and a dry but dusty place - De Hoek is nestled between a valley of its own with good garden maintenance for greenery surprisingly that you might not have expected from Oudshoorn or the Klein karoo for that matter. The location has a pool thst is cleaned daily, with life guard on duty and caretakers who live on property to ensure that site is kept to standard. It's near a beautiful little river and stares at an unofficial but tested rock climbing route (for professionals at own risk - located off property) and though surrounded by Babboons who will in the early hours of the morning attempt to rummage your bins and or whatever you've left outside - just be wise, read the signs. Don't walk alone, don't carry food with you around them either and don't leave your doors and windows open for them the baboons to break in and you'll have an awesome time.

Camping sites available but booking the shelters are better with private kitchens and bathrooms. Comes with bedding and kitchen utensils. There is power there but no signal at all or wifi. You'll enjoy the retreat and break away from technology here ✨️

Great place,, very peaceful also very clean chalets,,close to wilgewandel farm, cango caves, cango wildlife, friendly staff and also Phillip at the gates Thank you for you friendly ness, we enjoyed our stay at De Hoek very beautiful place neat and clean

Camped there in a tent, nice sites, well maintained. Communal bathrooms are clean and tidy, we'll serviced. If you like to sit on social media, not much cell service here. If you want to "get away from it" this is the place.

Most beautiful camping you can imagine, pools are amazing. Loved it!

Worst holiday ever.We arrived at De Hoek from a 5 hour drive from Cape Town only to find out that our chalet we booked (which was 5 months ago) was taken. They gave our chalets to other guests because they had a music festival which was ending the next day. They placed us in a dormitory the first night. The next morning we had to wait for our chalet to be cleaned and had to move all of our stuff we which we unpacked from the dormitory, the had to pack and move all of it into the chalet. They told us that they are waiting for next the next available chalet for us meaning they never booked one for us in the first place ( which we booked 5 months ago) they said their was a mistake made and they booked us for 2 Jan - 5 Jan, but our invoice clearly said we booked from 1 Jan - 4 Jan. they clearly made room for the music festival guests since they were pumping more money into the resort. Because we heard the same thing happens to our neighbours at the chalet.
Never returning to De Hoek.
