Description
Die Kaia offers a serene and naturally lush escape situated on the banks of the Little Fish River, approximately four kilometers outside KwaNojoli (Somerset East). Set against the slopes of the Bosberg Mountain on a working farm, this resort is a sanctuary for those looking to experience the quiet beauty of the Karoo Heartland. The atmosphere is defined by the early morning calls of the African Fish Eagle and the sight of bushbuck and otters along the riverbank, providing a deeply peaceful and grounded environment for families and outdoor enthusiasts.

The camping experience is tailored for those who enjoy wide-open spaces and the proximity of the river, featuring 20 grassed stands dotted with established trees for shade. Each site is equipped with an electrical power point (shared posts) and access to water points. The layout is suitable for all types of camping setups, from tents to large caravans and motorhomes. Guests are encouraged to bring a ground net to protect the lush lawns and a 15-meter extension cord to reach the power points. Each stand has its own braai facility, making it a practical base for enjoying the outdoors after a day of exploration.

Facilities at the resort are practical and well-maintained, featuring neat communal ablution blocks with hot water, showers, and flushing toilets. While there is no dedicated scullery for dishes, the camp offers a variety of recreational activities, including swimming, tubing, and excellent fly-fishing for species like Yellowfish, Carp, and Catfish. The property also features a lapa with a licensed bar and a big-screen TV for sporting events. Essentials like wood and braai packs are available for purchase on-site, and more comprehensive supplies can be found in nearby KwaNojoli. Whether you are birdwatching, canoeing, or simply relaxing by the water, Die Kaia provides a restorative and authentic Karoo experience.
